Deputy PM urges to accelerate key transport projects

Deputy PM Hai, who is also head of the State Steering Committee on Key Transport Projects, urged the committee and relevant agencies to take more effective measures to accelerate the progress of national key traffic projects.

There are currently 30 major transport projects with a total investment of around VND658 trillion. Problems related to land clearance, disbursement of funds and investment procurement, and lack of co-ordination among relevant agencies have been blamed for the tardiness of a number of key projects.

The Ministry of Transport has been asked to regularly oversee and evaluate the progress, technique and quality of each project as well as propose timely solutions, said the Deputy PM.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Construction should pay attention to inspect the disbursement of funds and the implementation of projects, he added.
