At the gathering, Minister of Public Security General Tran Dai Quang and delegates highlighted the tradition of the forces for over the last 70 years.
Born in the revolutionary atmosphere of the 1945 August Revolution, under the guidance of President Ho Chi Minh, the Party and State’s leadership and the people’s caring, the people’s public security force has continuously developed to meet the requirements and tasks of Vietnam’s revolution in each period.
Over the last 70 years of construction and growth, there were 541 senior cadres appointed and promoted to the rank of General of the People's Public Security by the Party and the State, who have served key leadership and command of the force and have made significant contributions to the success of the struggle for national liberation in the past, as well as in maintaining social order and safety and building and protecting the country today.
Expressing his delight to meet outstanding public security sector's representatives, President Sang said that, in the great achievements of the sector over the last years, there were worthy contributions by generations of senior public security generals and commanders, who are typical examples of patriotism, wholeheartedly serving the country and the people, willing to sacrifice for the cause of national revolution.
The State leader affirmed that the tasks of firmly safeguarding the national independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and social order and safety poses a heavy responsibility for the force, requiring its strong, regular, elite and modern development.
He urged the contingent of public security commanders, whether in duty or had retired, will continue to uphold the glorious tradition the force to serve the Motherland and the people; while constantly following the moral example of President Ho Chi Minh to performed the successful completion of all tasks entrusted by the Party, the State and the people.
