PM receives delegates to 70th anniversary of Vietnam Police’s Day

NDO/ VNA – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung hosted a reception in Hanoi on August 18 for heads of foreign delegations who are in Vietnam to attend a ceremony marking the 70th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Police Force held the same day.

Led by Lao Minister of Public Security Somkeo Silavong, the delegation comprised officials of national security and interior ministries, and security and police forces from China, Russia, Cuba and ASEAN member states, as well as leaders of ASEANAPOL and Interpol.

The PM expressed his satisfaction with the positive progress of multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and ASEAN, China, Russia, Cuba as well as effective coordination between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and counterparts in the countries and Aseanpol and Interpol.

He pledged all possible support to the collaboration, especially in the fight against trans-national, drug and human trafficking, cyber and terrorism crimes, and in personnel training and experience sharing.

Lao Minister Somkeo Silavong expressed his belief that the Vietnam People’s Public Security Force will make greater contributions to the national defence and development cause as well as keep expanding its partnerships with security, police, interior and intelligence agencies of countries, and international organisations worldwide.
