The function focused on discussing the general report on preparing for the election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and People’s Councils for the 2016-2021 tenure.

Over the next two months, the National Election Council will concentrate on the organisation of a national conference on preparing for the elections. It also plans to complete the promulgation of documents and books for the election.

The council will set up election management groups in localities and organise the first and second consultative conferences, as well as announce the list of polling stations and the number of National Assembly (NA) deputies to be elected in each locality.

It will launch communication campaigns on the elections of the 14th NA and People’s Councils for the 2016-2021 tenure, while completing its portal to report relevant information on the elections to the public.

At the session, the council reviewed and adopted the Resolution stipulating the implementation of several articles under the Law on Election of National Assembly Deputies and People’s Council Members.
