The 'Tap Chi Cong San' (Communist Review), in collaboration with Ministry of Information and Communications held a unique arts programme themed ‘Independence Star’ in Hanoi on September 1, with Politburo member and President of Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee (VFFCC) Nguyen Thien Nhan in attendance.

The programme featured numerous songs and dances praising the August Revolution, two resistance wars for national independence, the cause of national construction and defence and 30 years of Doi Moi (reform) process.

The event also offered an opportunity for Vietnamese people to express their respect and gratitude to the Party, President Ho Chi Minh and generations of soldiers as well as the determination of promoting the strength of national unity during the cause of industrialism, modernism and international integration.

The programme is expected to contribute to educating patriotism among younger generations, encouraging them to study, train and research to develop the country.

On September 1, the southern province of Binh Duong held a meeting to mark 71st anniversary of National Day (September 2). The event was attended by former Politburo member and President Nguyen Minh Triet, leaders and former leaders of province, heroic Vietnamese mothers and revolutionary veterans.

The delegates discussed measures to overcome all difficulties and challenges to successfully fulfill all tasks and goals, building Binh Duong as more modern.
