Ho Chi Minh City leaders pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh

A delegation of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front Committee paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh and late President Ton Duc Thang on September 2.

The delegation was led by Politburo member and Secretary of the City Party Committee Dinh La Thang.

They offered incense and laid wreaths at the Ho Chi Minh City branch of Ho Chi Minh Museum, Ho Chi Minh Statue Park and Ton Duc Thang Museum to express their respect to senior leaders for their devotion to the struggle for national independence and freedom.

At the Ho Chi Minh City branch of the Ho Chi Minh Museum, the delegates visited the exhibition featuring photos and documents related to the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh as well as achievements that the country has gained over the past 30 years of doi moi.

Numerous delegations of political organisations, departments, agencies and districts as well as people and visitors in the City and surrounding localities also paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh and late President Ton Duc Thang at these areas.

On the same day, the Ministry of Public Security held a ceremony to inaugurate a memorial house to President Ho Chi Minh at its headquarters, with Politburo member and Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General To Lam in attendance.

The house is expected to contribute to teaching political ideas, revolutionary traditions among generations of officials and soldiers of the people’s police force as well as helping them learn more about the life, career and morality of President Ho Chi Minh.

At the inauguration ceremony, the delegates offered incense and laid wreaths at the memorial house to pay tribute to beloved Uncle Ho.

Addressing the ceremony, Minister To Lam emphasised that the people’s police force would follow the President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example and teachings, successfully fulfilling all assigned tasks for national independence and freedom as well as the people’s happiness.

On the occasion, the Minister presented certificates of merit to units and individuals who made significant contributions to building the President Ho Chi Minh’s memorial house.
