Deputy PM inspects fight against corruption in Ho Chi Minh City

NDO—A working delegation led by Truong Hoa Binh, Politburo member and Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee for the Prevention and Control of Corruption, held a working session with the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee on September 26 to inspect the investigation and prosecution of corruption and economic cases of public concern.

The working session was attended by Dinh La Thang, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Phan Dinh Trac, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Internal Affairs; Le Minh Tri, Head of the Supreme People’s Procuracy; and the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City.

A delegate from the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee reported the results of ten years of the implementation of the resolution on strengthening the Party’s leadership in combating corruption and waste.

Speaking at the session, the Deputy PM hailed Ho Chi Minh City’s efforts in improving its efficiency in uncovering and dealing with corruption.

He reminded Ho Chi Minh City to pay more attention to administrative reform, improving legal documents, strictly handling violations and increasing officials’ awareness and capacity.

Deputy PM Binh also urged the city to enhance the roles and responsibilities of local executive committees, authorities and leaders, while soliciting the active participation of the community in curbing corruption.
