Politburo member Truong Thi Mai joins great unity festival in Vinh Phuc

Politburo member, Secretary of Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation Truong Thi Mai on November 13 attended the Great National Unity Festival in Van Giua village, Van Hoi commune, Tam Duong district, the northern province of Vinh Phuc.

Addressing the ceremony, the Politburo member appreciated the efforts made by Van Giua village in promoting the spirit of unity as well as in implementing Party guidelines and State policies on improving the quality of the people’s lives.

She asked the local Party committee, government and residents to continue contributing to building a cleaner, more beautiful and civilized village as well as enhance management, education and encouragement of strict abidance by the laws among younger generations.

Politburo member Mai urged the co-ordination between the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committees and authorities at all levels to promote the campaign “All People Unite to Build New-Style Rural Areas and Civilised Urban Areas” launched by the VFF Central Committee.

Van Giua village now has 345 households with a population of 1,347. As of 2016, the average income per capita of the village reached VND37 million per person per year; and the proportion of rich households stands at 75%.

Earlier on November 12, Politburo member and Vice Chairwoman of National Assembly (NA) Tong Thi Phong joined the Great National Unity in Hun village, Chieng Co commune, Son La city.

At the event, the NA Vice Chairwoman expressed her pleasure at results that the village has gained in socio-economic development as well as the campaign “All people unite to build cultural life in residential areas’ and building new-style rural areas.

She asked the local Party committee and government to continue upholding the tradition of unity in order to improve the lives of local people over the coming time.

On the occasion, NA Vice Chairwoman presented 15 gifts to policy beneficiary families and outstanding households in the village.
