Dak Nong urged to ensure social security and poverty reduction

NDO—Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam has asked Dak Nong province to pay constant and regular attention to ensuring social security, accelerating poverty reduction and facilitating local people’s access to healthcare services and education, particularly among the ethnic minorities.

The deputy PM made the request at a working session with key leaders of the Central Highlands province on November 18.

Praising Dak Nong’s determination to fulfil the tasks set for 2016, he urged the province to continue boosting administrative reform and stabilising the lives of domestic migrants, thereby creating a premise for socioeconomic development, sustainable poverty reduction and the maintenance of political stability.

Regarding the health and education sectors, Dak Nong needs to focus on developing qualified human resources and take creative and flexible action in accordance with the province’s peculiar conditions instead of repeating the same models as in other cities and provinces, Deputy PM Dam said.

He asked for co-operation between the provincial health and social insurance sectors in order to develop satellites in medical examinations and treatment and to ensure optimal initial healthcare work for the people.

Dak Nong should be urgent but not hasty in developing, particularly concerning the exploitation of natural resources such as minerals and forests, and tourism, the deputy PM noted.

At the meeting, Dak Nong’s leaders proposed that the Government allocate funding for the province’s transport infrastructure projects, residential stabilisation projects and major categories of the Community College.
