The ceremony also marked the announcement of a master plan for the Hoa Binh lake national tourism zone and the recognition of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage title for two heritages of Hoa Binh, namely Muong gong culture and Mo Muong (a tradition of poetry telling passed down through generations) of the ethnic Muong people.

At the ceremony, Nguyen Van Quang, Deputy Secretary of Hoa Binh Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee reviewed the 130-year path of Hoa Binh’s development and its 25th re-establishment since the splitting from the old Ha Son Binh province in 1991.

The land is home to the Hoa Binh Culture (Hoabinhian), various epic myths and culturally-rich festivals. During the ups and downs of the nation, the people of Hoa Binh along with the tradition of solidarity have joined hands in building and defending the country.

In recognition of its great contributions, the province has received notable orders from the Party and State, such as the Gold Star, the Resistance, the Fatherland Defence Order, the Military Exploit, and several first-class Labour Orders.

Speaking at the ceremony, Politburo member and standing member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat Dinh The Huynh expressed his pleasure at Hoa Binh’s comprehensive achievements in recent years, with active growth and innovation in all areas.

He stressed the need for Hoa Binh to perform synchronous solutions such as raising the quality of growth, boosting sustainable economic development, facilitating administrative reforms and improving the investment and business environment to attract development resources to the locality.

Politburo member Huynh also suggested taking advantage of local potentials to create conditions for business development, improving the productivity, quality and efficiency of agricultural production associated with building modern rural areas, enhancing the application of scientific and technological advances, and focusing on vocational training.

Hoa Binh should also promote the dissemination, promotion and introduction of its potentials and strengths, while mobilising resources for tourism development in line with the preservation of its cultural heritages, Huynh said.

In addition, the province should also implement socio-cultural development tasks on par with improving human resource quality and caring for people's health, social welfare and sustainable poverty reduction, as well as maintaining political stability and social order while ensuring the implementation of religious and ethnic policies.

On the occasion, Politburo member Huynh awarded the first class Independence Order to Hoa Binh authorities and people in recognition of their contributions and achievements.
