Former NA deputies honoured

NDO—The National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee organised a ceremony in Hanoi on November 23 to present High-Level State Orders to former full-time deputies and retired officials of the thirteenth NA.

The ceremony was attended by NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, former NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, leaders and former leaders of the NA, members of the NA Standing Committee and others.

Speaking at the ceremony, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan briefed the delegates on the outstanding achievements of the thirteenth NA

She spoke highly of the contributions made by former deputies and retired officials who have upheld their responsibilities as representatives of the people and actively participated in the NA’s activities.

The NA Vice Chairwoman also expressed her thanks to former NA leaders and deputies for their attendance, adding that the meeting is not only a manifestation of admiration and respect for the previous generation of leaders, but also an opportunity to strengthen the relationship among them and make use of the experience of former NA leaders and deputies for the cause of national development.

At the ceremony, the 29 deputies were presented Independence and Labour Orders.

On behalf of the Party and State, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan presented first-class Independence Orders to former Party Central Committee members: Ksor Phuoc, Chairman of the NA Ethnic Council at the twelfth and thirteenth NAs; Nguyen Thi Nuong, Head of the Deputies Committee of the thirteenth NA Standing Committee; and Nguyen Van Hien, Chairman of the Justice Committee of the thirteenth NA.

NA Vice Chairmen Uong Chu Luu, Phung Quoc Hien and Do Ba Ty awarded second-class and third-class Independence Orders and first-class and second-class Labour Orders to other former deputies.
