The NA official made the remark at a reception in Hanoi on November 24 for a delegation of patriarchs representing ethnic minority groups in Cao Bang province.

She expressed her delight at the fast and all-round development of Cao Bang in recent years, particularly its achievements in reducing poverty, developing the economy and safeguarding border areas and national sovereignty, stressing that the outcomes are thanks to the joint efforts of local authorities and people, including patriarchs of ethnic minority groups.

She praised Cao Bang provincial Party Committee for promulgating a decree on ethnic work, which demonstrated the local authorities’ attention to improving the living of ethnic groups in the province.

She asked for more practical actions to duplicate exemplary models in ethnic minority groups and to better care for their physical and spiritual life.

She said she hoped that the patriarchs of ethnic minority groups would continue promoting their role in encouraging their compatriots to eliminate outdated habits in their community, boost production activities, protect national sovereignty and border security, thus contributing to fostering socio-economic development in the province.
