The statement was made by Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue during his meeting with voters in Ha Tinh province on December 4 on agricultural and forestry sectors and building new-style rural areas.
Addressing the meeting, Deputy PM Hue appreciated the enthusiastic and responsible ideas made by local voters, contributing to socio-economic development as well as listened to and answered their questions.
He emphasised that the investment for the development of agriculture, rural areas and farmers is a consistent strategy in the Party’s and State’s leadership and direction. Building new-style rural areas, in association with urbanisation, will be the priority during the 2016-2021 tenure, the Deputy PM added.
He also urged for the completion of the province’s Co-ordination Office for New-style Rural Areas to guide the implementation and review of new criteria for new-style rural areas.
Deputy PM Hue noted that the assessment should be based on the reality and conditions of each region and locality, paying much attention to the criteria of local people’s incomes, cultural environment and living environment in residential areas as well as strong political system.
He asked Ha Tinh province to create favourable conditions for enterprises to invest in potential and strong commodities as well as set out measures to develop agricultural business while reducing direct agricultural workers.
