Politburo members meet voters in Lam Dong, Dong Nai

Politburo member and Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) Truong Thi Mai along with National Assembly (NA) deputies from Lam Dong province held meetings with voters in the districts of Di Linh and Lam Ha on April 27.

Politburo member Truong Thi Mai who is also Head of the PCC’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation informed local voters on the socio-economic situation of the nation and Lam Dong province in the first quarter of 2017, in addition to outstanding activities of NA deputies from Lam Dong and the main contents of the 14th NA's third session.

Voters in the two districts suggested the NA pay more attention to several issues including administrative reform, reduction of the payroll, environmental protection, social welfare, job creation for rural employees, traffic safety and food safety.

Politburo member Mai was open to opinions and explained a number of issues of concern, saying that other problems will be sent to the NA and related agencies to address.

On the same day, Politburo member, PCC Secretary and Head of the PCC's Commission for Education and Information Vo Van Thuong along with NA deputies from Dong Nai province listened to voters' opinions in Nhon Trach district, Dong Nai province.

Local voters raised concerns over stagnant projects in the locality that affect the daily life of the people, including seriously polluted water resources; weaknesses in corruption prevention; violations of food safety; and issues related to crime prevention.

They also asked the NA to clarify the responsibilities of organisations and individuals in the appointment of officials in some localities causing public concern.

Head of the delegation of NA deputies from Dong Nai and Deputy Secretary of Dong Nai's Party Committee Phan Thi My Thanh affirmed that opinions from voters will be submitted to the NA at the upcoming working session and urgent issues would be addressed soon.
