President Tran Dai Quang visits central Nghe An province

President Tran Dai Quang, on April 28, talked with local residents in Nghia Dong commune, Tan Ky district in the central province of Nghe An.

Located in the north of Tan Ky district, Nghia Dong commune is home to around 2,050 households with a total population of approximately 9,300. The commune’s per capita income in 2016 reached VND 28.3 million (US$1,240), and the poverty rate dropped by 2.7%. The commune was recognised as a new-style rural area in November 2014.

Talking with local residents, President Tran Dai Quang spoke highly of the people’s prompt application of advanced technology in their production as well as their strong will to overcome difficulties and poverty.

He stressed the need to restructure agricultural production; strengthen the connection among farmers, scientists and businesses in order to increase production and develop high-technology agriculture.

He asked the local authorities to maintain social order, consolidate the political system, and encourage more positive participation from local people in production.

The President also pledged the construction of a cafeteria for the commune’s boarding preschool in response to an appeal made by the local Party committee and authorities at the event.

During his stay in the commune, President Tran Dai Quang also visited a model dairy farm of Ngo Xuan Ngoan, and presented gift to war veteran Ho Van Tho.

In the evening the same day, the State President visited and offered incense to President Ho Chi Minh at the Kim Lien special national heritage site in Nam Dan district, Nghe An province.

He also visited Truong Bon national historical site in My Son commune, Do Luong district, to commemorate the dedication of fallen Vietnamese soldiers during the country’s struggle for national independence.
