President meets voters in Ho Chi Minh City

State President Tran Dai Quang, alongside the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly (NA) delegation, met with voters in Districts 1, 3 and 4 in the southern city on December 1 to inform them of the outcomes of the fourth session of the 14th tenure NA.

At the meeting, voters expressed their pleasure at the success of the fourth session of the 14th NA and highly valued the innovation and efficiency of the NA’s activities.

They also appreciated the socio-economic development of the country in recent times, particularly the successful organisation of the 2017 APEC Economic Leaders’ Week, which contributed to improving the role and position of Vietnam within international arena.

President Quang said that the success of the APEC Week was an outstanding external achievement of the entire Party, people and army this year, contributing to improving the APEC’s role as a leading economic cooperation mechanism in the region.

The event also became a new milestone in the process of international integration of Vietnam, reflecting the country’s strategic vision for Asia-Pacific, he added.

The events during the APEC Year – 2017 and APEC Economic Leaders’ Week were held professionally and meticulously, while security and order were absolutely guaranteed for all of the important activities.

The State leader noted that following its fourth session, the NA issued a resolution on supervising the implementation of the staff streamlining work.

Regarding the recent cases of violence against children, President Quang called for an improvement in the efficiency of State management, as well as an enhancement in the coordination among ministries, agencies, schools, families, and the entire society in the protection, care and education of children.

He asked the relevant agencies to inspect the observance of legal provisions at kindergartens around the country in order to prevent, investigate and strictly handle any violations.
