Most of the voter’s concerns heard during the meeting focused on the urgent need of providing electricity in remote hamlets in the district, upgrading traffic and irrigation systems, and stabilising the livelihood of households who are living in areas with a high risk of floods and landslides.

The voters also called for increased investment to improve the infrastructure at boarding schools and medical stations in the district, as well as the building of favourable policies on facilitating poor households’ engagement in tourist activities.

Acknowledging the voters’ aspirations, Politburo member Vuong asked the local authorities of Mu Cang Chai district and Yen Bai province in general to attach greater care to help local people in doing business, escaping from poverty, and building rural areas, while ensuring the residents’ social welfare.

He requested a consensus and solidarity among the authorities and people in building a strong and transparent Party Committee, stressing that the Party and State always pay special attention to socio-economic development in disadvantaged regions and in the living areas of ethnic minority groups.
