Speaking at the conference, VFF President Tran Thanh Man said he expects the delegates to contribute their ideas so that the 9th VFF Congress will become an extensive political event of the Party and people.

The delegates also discussed the weaknesses and drawbacks of front affairs in 2018 and outlined the solutions for 2019 and the action programme for the 2019-2024 term.

The conference set out six major tasks for 2019, such as successfully organising the Fatherland Front congresses at all the levels and the 9th VFF national congress, in addition to strengthening national solidarity.

In 2018 the local chapters of the VFF used their funds to help build and repair nearly 18,000 houses, and presented gifts worth more than VND1.552 (US$49.5 million) to poor households.
