NDO - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc chaired a working session of the 13th National Party Congress’s sub-committee on socio-economic affairs in Buon Ma Thuot city, Dak Lak province on July 12 with the participation of leaders of 10 cities and provinces in the central coastal region and the Central Highlands.

Speaking at the session, PM Phuc praised the successes the localities have recorded in socio-economic development, ethnic affairs and foreign relations in recent years.

He also pointed out some shortcomings and limitations related to environmental protection, and the management of land and natural resources, especially in regards to forest management.

The Government leader asked for the provinces to develop forests in a sustainable manner, at the same time promote the development of hi-tech and organic agriculture to raise the added value of products.

It was necessary to make the best use of localities' potential and strengths and continue to promote regional connectivity, he noted.

More attention must be paid to handling land-related issues, raising educational levels of local people, and attracting more investors, especially big ones, he added.

The PM reminded the local authorities of developing trade, improving the quality of human resources, especially the public workforce, helping them to have better management, while also promoting the growth of private businesses.
