Bac Kan province urged to seek breakthrough measures for development

The northern mountainous province of Bac Kan should assess difficulties and seek breakthrough measures, particularly in promoting the potentials of agriculture, forestry and tourism, for its sustainable development.

The statement was made by Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh at her recent working session with leaders of the province.

The Vice President appreciated the continuous efforts made by the provincial authorities and people to gain encouraging achievements in all fields, particularly in the economy, building new-style rural areas, forestry plantation and tourism.

She also hailed the local authorities’ care for policy beneficiaries and great attention to maintaining social order and safety, and security and defence.

Vice President Thinh asked the local leaders to focus on improving the quality of education and training, accelerating the public administration reform, building new-style rural areas, preparing the conditions for the Party Congress at all levels and preserving traditional cultures.

On the occasion, the Vice President presented 200 scholarships to outstanding students who are living in difficult circumstances as well as books worth a total of VND75 million to schools in the locality.
