NDO - An awards ceremony was held on October 11 to honour the winners of a contest on the 90-year history of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) from Thua Thien-Hue province northwards.

The first iteration of the contest has taken place on the VCNET social network for six weeks since August 26.

The organisers awarded six first prizes, 12 second prizes, 18 third prizes and 30 consolation prizes.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, Deputy Head of the Central Commission for Communication and Education Le Manh Hung emphasised that the contest is one of various activities to celebrate the upcoming 90th anniversary of the CPV’s founding.

He added that the contest aims to educate the public about the glorious history of the Party and push back ideological, political and moral deterioration.

The contest was held in a multiple-choice format and saw the participation of 534,836 people from all 63 provinces and centrally-governed cities in its first six weeks.

The first edition of the contest will continue until December 30, 2019.
