The function was attended by Tran Quoc Vuong, Politburo member and permanent member of the Secretariat.

At the ceremony, Ninh Binh Secretary Nguyen Thi Thanh recounted the achievements that the province has recorded following the teachings of the late leader.

The provincial economy grew by 8.21% annually during the 2016-2018 period, with the poverty rate dropping to 3.6%.

In his speech, Vuong highly praised Ninh Binh province’s achievements and asked the province to continue stepping up the campaign to study and follow the example of President Ho Chi Minh.

He noted that the province needs to focus on enhancing economic productivity while protecting the environment and cultural sites, especially the Trang An scenic complex, helping to make Ninh Binh a key tourism region.

The Politburo member expressed his belief that building on its tradition and honour to welcome President Ho Chi Minh’s five visits, Ninh Binh will soon become a wealthy province.
