Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh works with Kon Tum

Politburo member and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh worked with the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum on October 19 to review the works of mass mobilisation, socio-economic development and the handling of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeitgoods.

Addressing the working session, Deputy PM Binhappreciated the efforts made by the province’s authorities in economic development as well as in mass mobilisation.

Kon Tum should continue to promote and renovate measures to improve the efficiency of mass mobilisation as well as to strengthen crime prevention and control, contributing to maintaining political stability, security, social order and safety, he added.

The province should also focus on developing commercial agriculture, applying high technologies, building a trademark for Ngoc Linh ginseng, and speeding up administrative reforms, the Deputy PM said.

Kon Tum should also review its targets and future roadmap to optimise its strengths and potentials, while preserving ethnic minority cultures to develop tourism and reduce poverty among ethnic minority communities, he noted.

Stressing the strategic role of Kon Tum in the region’s political security, the Deputy PM asked the province to effectively implement plans to ensure national defence, security, social order and safety.
