State Audit asked to enhance transparency and professionalism

The audit sector should be striving to regularly enhance their transparency and professionalism as well as gradually modernise their operations in the new future.

Chairwoman of National Assembly (NA) Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan made the statement while attending a conference held by the State Audit in Hanoi on January 8 to devise plans and targetsfor 2020.

Speaking at the event, the NA leader expressed her appreciation for the achievements that the State Audit realized in the previous year, supporting the NA in the fields of legislation, supervision and the decisions made over the the country’s most important issues.

She acknowledged the proposals and recommendations of the State Audit, while requesting the ministries and agencies to closely coordinate and create favourable conditions for theagency to fulfil all assigned tasks.

The State Audit should provide information timely to serve the operation of the NA, the NA Standing Committee and People’s Councils at the localities as well as the Government, added NA Chairwoman Ngan.

She urged the State Audit to implement the Law on Amendments and Supplements to A Number of Articles of the Law on State Audit, while reviewing the newly amended, supplemented and promulgated legal documents and programmes related to the audit sector’s activities.

The State Audit should continue to boost the application of science and technology in audit processes as well as trainofficials and employ them with professional skills, noted the top legislator.

She stressed the enhancement of the supervision, inspection and control of the State Audit’s public service undergoings to strictly handle individuals involved in law-breaking acts, negative manifestations, the degradation in political ideology, morality and lifestyle.

NA leader Ngan also asked the agency to perform its role well as the chairmanship of the Asian Organisation for Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) for 2018-2021 period, while expanding cooperation with many organisations and agencies in the world.
