PM urges Government Office to get back to work after Tet

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has asked the staff of the Government Office to resume working immediately after the week-long Lunar New Year (Tet).

The request was made at a New Year meeting with the office on January 30, the first working day of the lunar calendar year of the rat.

He said that the Government Office must meet all deadlines with no delays to any tasks assigned by the central government or proposed by ministries and local authorities.

The head of government asked the office to immediately get back to their jobs regarding research, offering advice and getting an overall view of certain states of affairs, especially those concerning public investment disbursement and the re-organisation of state-owned companies.

PM Phuc also requested the office to promptly advise the PM and Deputy PM on how to protect the people’s health amid the new coronavirus outbreak, an epidemic which is sweeping China and elsewhere around the world.

He also took the occasion to praise the Government Office staff for carrying out their duties in a responsible manner during the New Year holiday.
