Hanoi urged to strengthen measures against smuggling and trade fraud

Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh has requested Hanoi authorities to step up measures in dealing with legal violations related to smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.

The government senior official was speaking at a working session held in Hanoi on May 19 between the National Steering Committee for the prevention and control of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods and Hanoi.

Hanoi should define the prevention of trafficking, trade fraud and fake goods as an important political duty which must be conducted strictly and continuously, he said.

The city should also improve coordination with ministries, sectors and localities to timely handle violations related to smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.

The Deputy PM also urged to promote the role of heads of agencies and units in the fight against crime as well as to strengthen inspection to detect, arrest and strictly handle smuggling and trade fraud.
