NA Chairwoman attends 13th session of Hai Duong People’s Council

The 16th People’s Council of Hai Duong province convened its 13th session on the morning of July 24 in the presence of Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Secretary of Hai Duong provincial Party Committee Nguyen Manh Hien said that amid the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the local socio-economic situation, Hai Duong has overcome its difficulties and implemented measures to facilitate both enterprises and people.

Its six-month gross regional domestic product (GRDP)was estimated to have expanded by 2.86% over the same period last year with a high growth rate of 7.5% in agricultural, forestry and aquatic production.

As many as 165 out of 178 communes have met the standards set for new-style rural area, accounting for nearly 93% of the total number of communes.

The NA leader expressed her delight at the positive results that Hai Duong has achieved in the first half of this year, saying that the results can be attributed to the significant contributions of the provincial People’s Council.

She asked the province to enhance the role and responsibility of the provincial People’s Council in making decisions on important local issues while continuing to improve its performance.

The provincial People’s Council should increase its coordination with the Vietnam Fatherland Front, theprovincial People’s Committee, and National Assemblyagencies to foster the connection between central and local agencies for more effective operation.

She also asked the provincial People’s Council to promote the building of documents to submit to the 17th Congress of the Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 tenure.

The NA Chairwoman expressed her belief that Hai Duong will continue to promote their achievements and experience and maintain its development growth in the future.
