The event was co-chaired by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, who is Secretary of the Government Party's Civil Affairs Committee, and NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, who is Secretary of the NA’s Party Committee.

According to a Government Office's report, at the upcoming session, the Government plans to submit 72 documents to the NA. With regard to voters' proposals to the Government, the Government Office has reviewed and classified them for submission to the PM so they may be assigned to the concerned ministries to respond.

Participants at the meeting stressed the importance of how to successfully serve the NA session to win people's trust amidst the country facing multiple difficulties and challenges.

To prepare for the sitting, PM Phuc asked the cabinet members to proactively arrange their working plans to fully attend the relevant discussion and hearing sessions. They were urged to thoroughly prepare quality documents as assigned to fully answer questions from NA deputies and respond to voters' proposals sent to the NA session.

Government members were also required to exchange with and provide documents to NA deputies, NA deputy delegations and press agencies on issues of concern from the NA deputies and the public in the fields they are in charge of.

PM Phuc also suggested that the relevant ministries and sectors clarify some of the issues raised as well as review the contents of their responsibility to submit to the NA. The cabinet members must be ready for the Q&A sessions at the sitting, the PM stressed.

NA Chairwoman Ngan highly praised both the Government and NA’s agencies for coordinating the preparations for the upcoming meeting, especially the NA Office and Government Office.

She suggested both sides continue to complete the documents related to the projected laws on which the NA Standing Committee has previously given comments before submitting them to the NA for approval.

NA Chairwoman Ngan also mentioned about a number of issues regarding the preparations for the sitting, including the meeting agenda, voters’ recommendations, communications work and conducting meetings with voters before the upcoming NA session.
