Party’s Mass Mobilisation Commission marks 90th anniversary

The Party Central Committee (PCC)’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation held a ceremony in Hanoi on October 11 to mark its 90th anniversary (October 15,1930 - 2020) and honour exemplary models in mass mobilisation movement during the 2017-2020 period.

The PCC’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation also organised Patriotic Emulation Congress of Mass Mobilisation sector, honouring the winners of a press contest on outstanding examples in mass mobilisation movement during the 2017-2020 period.

The event was attended by the Politburo members: Permanent member of the Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong; National Assembly Standing vice Chairwoman, Tong Thi Phong; PCC Secretary and Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communication and Education Vo Van Thuong; PCC Secretary and Head of the PCC’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation Truong Thi Mai; and PCC Secretary, Head of the PCC's Economic Commission Nguyen Van Binh; along with PCC Secretaries: President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Tran Thanh Man; Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Hoa Binh; General Luong Cuong, who is Chairman of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission Tran Cam Tu; and Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Internal Affairs Phan Dinh Trac; as well as other leaders, former leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front and the PCC’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation and 203 exemplary models who stood out from the mass mobilisation movement across the country.

Addressing the ceremony, Head of the PCC’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation Truong Thi Mai Truong Thi Mai reviewed the glorious 90-year tradition of the Mass Mobilisation sector with important contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the development of the country. She affirmed the great achievements after the 35-year implementation of the Doi Moi, 30-year implementation of the 1991 Political Platform, and 10-year implementation of the amended Political Platform (amended in 2011).

Speaking at the ceremony, Permanent member of the Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong affirmed that the Party's achievements during the past 90 years have made a great contribution to the mass mobilisation work of Party and the whole political system. He praised exemplary models who stood out from the mass mobilisation movement across the country in the past 10 years. He stressed that mass mobilisation activities play a crucial role in facilitating the country’s socio-economic development and strengthening the great national unity bloc as they help to summon public support for and trust in the national revolutionary cause. Therefore, he called for further participation from the Party Commission of Mass Mobilisation and the entire political system from central to grassroot level in speeding up and increasing the quality of mobilisation activities. He also stressed the need to work out new working methods and content to attract more public attention and involvement into the work while inspiring patriotism among the participants.

On the occasion, the PCC’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation presented certificates of merit to individuals and organisations with outstanding achievements in the in mass mobilisation movement during the 2016-2020 period and honoured thewinners of press contest on outstanding examples in mass mobilisation movement during the 2017-2020 period.
