PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc meets voters in Hai Phong

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and a National Assembly deputy delegation from Hai Phong city met with voters in the city on October 13 to inform them on the main contents at the upcoming 10th session of the 14th National Assembly.

PM Phuc told the voters that amidst the difficulties caused by impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the decline in the world’s economy and trade, as well as natural disasters, Vietnam’s economy has still maintained its positive growth rate, and belongs to the top 16 most successful emerging economies in the world.

In particular, agricultural production has seen strong growth. Vietnam has become a major food exporter in the world. Along with that, foreign exchange reserves have increased, contributing to creating strong potential for national development.

Food security and energy security have been guaranteed. Industrial production, especially automobile mechanical engineering, the processing industry, and wooden furniture production have thrived.

The disbursement of public investment has witnessed good progress. The arrangement of the apparatus in the direction of streamlining, efficiency and effectiveness has made progress. The work of social security, hunger eradication, poverty reduction, caring for policy beneficiaries, people with meritorious services and the poor also achieved encouraging results.

The PM also acknowledged the strong, comprehensive and fundamental development of Hai Phong in recent years, citing that the city has actively implemented its dual goals in both preventing the epidemic and promoting production and business, he said.

The Government leader also emphasised that doing well in social security and taking care of people’s lives will contribute to strengthening confidence, creating a high consensus among the people and an important sense of strength toward development.

PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc spent a lot of time responding to voters’ proposals on measures to prevent and control the COVID-19 epidemic in the new normal; urban government construction; solving problems arising in textbook reform programme; the fight against corruption and wastefulness; among others.
