The project, which is among the events celebrating the 16th Congress of the Hai Phong Party Committee, was completed within five months at a total cost of VND362.5 billion (US$15.64 million), sourced from the city’s budget.
The pile yard conservation area covers three hectares with several features, including a 22m-wide main gate featuring four reinforced concrete pillars that represent Bach Dang piles; the fence wall system; a 360 square metre reception house to display artifacts; and a 2,000 square metre dome covering the conservation area on the spot.

The roadway to the Cao Quy pile yard is nearly 3.5 kilometres long and 18-22 metres wide, connecting the National Highway 10 with the pile yard.
The newly inaugurated categories will contribute to preserving and promoting the nation’s traditions that have been fostered through thousands of years of national construction and defence, while facilitating transport connections between historical relics along Bang Dang River.
Later that day, PM Phuc pressed the button to launch the construction of Rao Bridge, a connecting bridge with an important role in Hai Phong’s road transport system.

The project will be implemented from now until 2022 with a total funding of VND2.26 trillion (US$97.5 million) from the local budget. Rao Bridge will feature six spans and three steel domes, with the main bridge section measuring 456.5 metres long and 30.5 metres wide, accommodating six lanes.
The work is expected to satisfy Hai Phong’s strong development needs in the years ahead.
