Senior Party officials attend provincial Party congresses

Party congresses opened in many provinces throughout Vietnam on October 14 with the attendance of high-ranking Party and State officials.

Speaking at the convention of Tuyen Quang Province, Politburo member and permanent member of the Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong praised the province’s achievements over the past five years.

He asked provincial authorities to build on their revolutionary tradition and take advantage of all resources to transform Tuyen Quang into a more developed province of the northern mountainous region.

In Thai Binh Province, Politburo member and National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong urged the province to tap into its strengths in agriculture, suggesting that the province should promote organic farming and apply biotechnology to produce high-quality products.

Speaking at the congress of Vinh Phuc Province, Politburo member and Hanoi Party Secretary Vuong Dinh Hue congratulated the province on its economic development over the past five years but called for further reform in order to prevent the provincial economy from slowing down.

In Dak Lak, Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh suggested that the province should fully utilise its advantages in tourism, coffee and rubber production, and its location in the centre of the Central Highlands region and within the Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam development triangle.

On the same day, head of the Central Commission for Organisation Pham Minh Chinh attended the Party convention of Soc Trang Province, while the congresses of Phu Yen Province and Dien Bien Province saw the presence of Minister of Defence Ngo Xuan Lich and Minister of Public Security To Lam respectively.
