The senior Party leader said so during a national conference held by the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education in Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province on December 30, aiming to review the commission’s operation in 2020 and launch its new tasks for next year.

Speaking at the conference, Politburo member Thuong, who is also the head of the commission, praised the efforts of the whole communications and education sector in 2020 in particular and in the whole term of the 12th Party Congress in general, saying that the sector has made important contributions to the success of Party congresses at all levels as recognised by the Politburo and the Secretariat.

To improve the quality of communications and education work in the new year, Politburo member Thuong stressed the need to thoroughly grasp and disseminate the Party’s resolutions into life, improve the quality and efficiency of ideological and theoretical work aimed at building a clean and strong Party, and continue to improve the quality and effectiveness of propaganda work in the fields of education, training, science, technology, environment, healthcare, population, sports and social issues.

As 2021 has a special significance as the 13th National Party Congress and the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term are taking place, Thuong asked the sector to continue to actively advise the Politburo, the Secretariat and Party Committees at all levels to study, grasp and implement the resolutions of Party congress at all levels, while renewing and improving the quality of propaganda work in various fields, thereby contributing to strengthening people's confidence in the Party and State and consolidating the great national unity bloc for the successful deployment of the 2021 tasks as well as creating a solid premise for national socio-economic development during the 2021-2026 term.

Reports at the event showed that the entire sector has brought into play a sense of responsibility, creativity and flexibility in the communications and education and a keen sense of adaptation to practical situations, especially the negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and natural disasters in 2020.

The whole sector has actively grasped the situation and advised the Secretariat and Party Committees at all levels to lead and direct the prevention and control of COVID-19, while comprehensively propagating the major political events of the country.

Delegates at the event discussed issues that need to be improved in the new year, while sharing experiences and creative ways for the concerned localities, ministries and sectors to continue to innovate and improve the quality and efficiency of propaganda work in the new situation.
