Hanoi always creates favourable conditions for operation of press agencies

Politburo member and Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue said that Hanoi City has always created favourable conditions for the operation of press agencies, noting that there are no restrictions on press information.

The senior Party official made the remark at the meeting between Hanoi leaders and representative from central and Hanoi press agencies held on January 7.

The event also saw the participation of Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper Thuan Huu, who is also deputy head of the Party Central Committee’s Communication and Education Commission and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association, and Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Chu Ngoc Anh.

Representatives from press agencies valued results achieved by Hanoi in 2020, particularly the effective implementation of the dual goals of preventing the COVID-19 pandemic and promoting the local economy.

Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper Thuan Huu said that the Hanoi Party Committee and Hanoi People’s Committee made timely instructions to handle many urgent issues that were raised by the press.

He suggested the city continue to create more favourable conditions for press agencies to operate effectively in the future, thereby contributing to the city’s development.

Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue said that 50% of members of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association are working at the 600 press agencies in Hanoi, helping the city leaders to acquire diverse information as well as opinions from the people to build appropriate policies.

He emphasised that the city is always open to the pressand is working to enhance the sharing and supplying of information to the press.
