PM meets retired Government Office officials

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc hosted a get-together for retired officials from the Government Office in Hanoi on January 11.

Speaking at the event, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc emphasised that in 2020, Vietnam faced great difficulties such as the COVID-19 pandemic, historic natural disasters, floods and storms, however, the country made great efforts to overcome these challenges and difficulties and complete its socio-economic development tasks.

The macroeconomy has remained stable and sustainable, the major balances of the economy were strengthened, and production capacity increased, the PM noted.

PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc also emphasised that during this term, the Government Office has seen many innovations, with a focus on institutional reform in order to remove difficulties for enterprises, create better conditions for development and improve people’s lives.

The Government Office should continue to promote its position as a key consultancy body as well as a channel to receive and reflect the opinions of both the public and businesses, he added.

Suggesting the Government Office continue to pay attention to retired officials, the Government leader expressed his wish that retired officials and experts will continue to help and contribute their valuable experience to the building of a government of integrity and action best suited to serving the people.
