Speaking at the first session of the VFF’s steering committee for election affairs in Hanoi on January 13, Man, who is Vice Chairman of the National Election Committee and head of the steering committee, said the general election is an important political event of the country with a close connection to personnel affairs and featuring responsibilities of all-level authorities and sectors.

In that spirit, he requested preparations for the election must be made in a serious, democratic and timely manner in accordance with law.

All-level VFF chapters should participate in the supervision of the election, while coordinating with same-level People’s Committees and People’s Councils to set up organisations in charge of consultation work in localities, ensuring objectivity, impartiality, and accuracy, the VFF President stated.

According to the official, the standing board of the VFF Central Committee has issued plans and documents regulating and guiding consultation work in candidate nomination, and will receive citizens as well as petitions and denunciations related to the election, in line with regulations.

As scheduled, after a national training conference held by the National Election Committee on preparations for the election, the standing board of the VFF Central Committee will also organise a virtual national training conference on the work for organisations across the entire VFF system.

The first consultation conference on candidate nomination is set to take place on February 5. The second conference will be held before March 19 and the third before April 18.
