Incense offerings commemorate martyrs across many localities

Ho Chi Minh City’s Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front Committee on February 16 offered incense and laid wreathes at the Sai Gon – Cho Lon – Gia Dinh – Ho Chi Minh City Revolutionary Tradition History relic site in Phu Hiep hamlet, Phu My Hung commune, Cu Chi district.

The event was attended by former President Nguyen Minh Triet; Politburo members: Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh and Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen; as well as former Politburo member and Secretary of the City’s Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan.

The delegates paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh, Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, martyrs and revolutionary contributors.

* Also yesterday, the Border Guard High Command of Quang Ninh province offered incense and launched a tree-planting festival at the Po Hen historical relic site in Hai Son commune, Mong Cai city, which saw many fallen soldiers during the struggle to protect the northern border of the country in February 1979.

With their greatest respect and gratitude, the delegates recalled the historical milestone in the fight to protect the country’s border area 42 years ago.

The launch ceremony of the tree-planting festival took place in Mong Cai and Ha Long cities and Ba Che district.

On the occasion, the provincial Border Guard High Command and Quang Ninh authorities presented 300 gifts to policy beneficiaries, poor households and border guards’ children in the border communes.
