Localities speed up preparations for upcoming NA election

In recent days, inspection and supervision teams from the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee have worked in a number of localities on the preparations for the upcoming elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly (NA) and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure.

In Binh Duong province, the Provincial VFF said that inspection and supervision work has been completed, with guiding and propagating documents issued on the election work.

In Dong Nai province, according to a report from the Provincial Election Commission, preparations have been done fully and on schedule as prescribed. Currently, Dong Nai has nearly 2.3 million voters, with the number of delegates to be elected to the NA being 12 deputies, while the number of provincial People's Council deputies elected expected to be 8, the number of district-level People's Council deputies elected 388, and the number of elected commune People's Council deputies 4,511.

The Standing Committee of Bac Giang province’s VFF has held a conference providing training on the elections for 100 local Catholic officials in the province. At the conference, delegates were introduced to two topics, focusing on the position and role of the NA and Provincial People's Council, and some general issues about the upcoming elections.

In the capital city of Hanoi, Hanoi’s VFF chapters in all districts have been actively implementing preparations for the elections. In Chuong My district, a conference was held to collect comments and confidence from voters for local candidates. In Cau Giay district, a seminar was held to discuss enhancing the role and responsibility of the VFF and the veteran’s associations in building the government and contributing to the successful organisation of the elections. The Thanh Xuan District Election Committee has developed and implemented plans and assigned members to monitor and guide local units in the preparations for the elections.
