Hanoi’s Party leader requires effective COVID-19 fight and careful election preparations

Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi municipal Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung visited Dong Anh District on May 8 to examine COVID-19 prevention and control measures and local preparations for the upcoming elections of deputies to the 15th NA and the all-level People’s Councils for the 2021-2026 term.

He inspected PCR sampling at the workers’ housing area in the Thang Long Industrial Zone; the blockade area of the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases 2; the PCR sampling and election areas at Nhue Village’s Cultural House in Kim Chung commune; the election areas in Dai Vy and Ha Lo Villages in Lien Ha Commune; and the quarantine posts in Lo Giao Village of Viet Hung Commune.

In front of the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases 2, at a safe distance, Secretary Dinh Tien Dung encouraged leaders, staff, patients and their relatives to be steady, calm and alert and to strictly comply with the requirements of quarantine to prevent cross-contamination in the hospital and the spread of pathogens outside.

The City’s authorities will continue to coordinate with the Ministry of Health as well as thoroughly grasp the situation to promptly support the hospital.

While inspecting epidemic prevention and control and the preparations for the upcoming elections in Kim Chung, Lien Ha and Viet Hung Communes, the Hanoi leader noted that the Party committees should uphold their responsibilities to mobilise the whole political system to implement the “dual goals” of preventing and controlling the epidemic while ensuring socio-economic development and the successful and safe organisation of the upcoming elections.

Working with the Dong Anh District Party Committee, Secretary Dung lauded the local Party Committee, authorities and people, especially those on the front line in COVID-19 fight, for their drastic, synchronous and effective measures to prevent and control the pandemic.

He also asked the locality to continue promoting its experience sand results as well as to mobilise all legal resources and effective measures to prevent and control the epidemic while supporting production and business.
