NDO - Long An should enhance its strict management of immigration as well as strengthen close coordination among functional forces to strictly deal with illegal entries, aiding COVID-19 prevention and control.

The statement was released by Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh while working with leaders of the Mekong River Delta province of Long An on May 8, discussing the epidemic fight.

He lauded the efforts made by the local authorities and people to overcome difficulties in order to prevent and control the pandemic.

The Deputy PM asked the province to strictly comply with the Prime Minister's instructions on avoiding gatherings as well as preparations for the further complicated development of the pandemic.

It is crucial to uphold the role of COVID-19 prevention and control forces among the community; strictly handle cases of fraudulent medical declarations or untruthful reports; and implement the “dual goals” of developing the economy and ensuring social welfare while protecting border area security, added Deputy PM Binh.

He also asked local authorities at all levels to boost communication regarding COVID-19 vaccination.

* Also yesterday, the Deputy PM offered incense at the monument commemorating the Can Giuoc partisans, at the Can Giuoc stadium historic site (now Nguyen Thi Bay park) and at the memorial house dedicated to comrade Truong Van Bang.

He also visited and presented gifts to Heroic Vietnamese Mothers in Can Giuoc District.
