NA Standing Committee’s 57th meeting scheduled for June 14

The 57th meeting of the National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee will take place in Hanoi on June 14 and 15, according to a press release issued by the NA Office on June 11.

NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue is scheduled to deliver an opening speech and preside over the meeting in rotation together with NA Vice Chairpersons.

As scheduled, the committee will assess a preliminary report by the National Election Council on the outcomes of the elections of deputies to the 15th NA and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure.

It will also give opinions on such important issues as the NA's proposed law and ordinance development programme for 2022; the preparation for the 15th NA’s first session; and expected monitoring programmes of the NA and its Standing Committee in 2022.

The NA Standing Committee will decide on a proposal of the appointment of a Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia. It will discuss a financial case involving the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam), and the perfection of the council of justices at the Supreme People's Court.

The committee will also comment on a report on the results of the implementation of plans for socio-economic development and the State budget in the first six months as well as solutions for the last half of the year.
