His thoughts, life and career have been closely associated with the development of the Vietnamese revolution, and will forever illuminate the nation’s path to socialism.
Born and grown up during a highly turbulent period in the country, from his adolescence, President Ho Chi Minh thoroughly understood the pain of the Vietnamese people in losing their right to decide the fate of their own country, and felt deep sorrow for their misery. As a result, he decided to go aboad and find his own route to pursue independence and freedom for the country and the happiness for its people. He travelled across five continents, immersing himself in the life of the working class, and exploring practices of revolution around the world. During this process, he approached Marxism-Leninism, became a communist and found a right way to save his country.
With his extraordinary genius, intelligence and long-sighted vision that went beyond his era, he creatively applied Marxism-Leninism to Vietnamese revolutionary practices, while working hard to prepare conditions for the birth of a genuine revolutionary party, the vanguard of the working class, as well as the vanguard of the Vietnamese working people and nation. In 1930, the birth of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) along with its first political platform essentially formed the way to national salvation: national liberation associated with class liberation and human liberation, as well as national independence associated with socialism. The evolution of such a revolution and ideology has been increasingly supplemented and developed, becoming a torch guiding the nation to the “glorious podium.”
Under the leadership of President Ho Chi Minh and the CPV, Vietnam’s revolution overcame countless difficulties and challenges, moving from one victory to another, and achieved brilliant historic milestones. In the cause of national construction and defence, President Ho Chi Minh’s revolutionary policy has remained a guideline for the Vietnamese people to carry out the renovation and international integration process under the leadership of the Party, and gain historic significant achievements, thus building an increasingly developed Vietnam with prosperous people and increasingly important role and position in the international arena.
Devoting his whole arduous life full of sacrifice to the independence, freedom and happiness of the people, President Ho Chi Minh is the noblest symbol of Vietnamese patriotism and revolutionary heroism. The Ho Chi Minh Era is the most brilliant era in the nation’s glorious history. He left the Party, the nation, and today’s and future generations with an extremely valuable legacy. It is a comprehensive and profound system of views and arguments on the ideas and methods of the Vietnamese revolution, which have been proved scientific, correct and suitable to the country’s conditions through practice, and will forever illuminate the path to socialism in Vietnam. President Ho Chi Minh’s ethics and style are an extremely pure and noble example, as well as a great model of how to live, think, speak and work, for generations of Party members and the people to forever study and follow.
The celebration of Uncle Ho’s 131st birth anniversary this year coincides with the occasion of the whole country striving to implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, preparing for the elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and all-level People’s Councils for the 2021-2026 term, and drastically implementing the dual goal of fighting COVID-19 while encouraging socioeconomic development. With deep gratitude for his great merits, the whole nation vows to be absolutely loyal to the Party’s goals and ideals, effectively inherit and constantly develop the revolutionary cause of President Ho Chi Minh, steadfastly move forward on the path to socialism, and successfully build a socialist law-governed state of the people, by the people and for the people. The entire Party, people and army are striving to implement and promptly bring the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress into reality with specific and drastic action plans and programmes, as well as to successfully realise the targets and tasks set out in the new term, creating a solid foundation for the next period. All branches, localities and units should step up emulation movements and strongly encourage the desire to develop the country, in order to create the strength of self-reliance and great national solidarity, aimed at performing well in the dual task of pandemic fight and socioeconomic development. Greater attention will be paid to Party building and the building of a pure, strong and comprehensive political system with a contingent of cadres and Party members who are ethically and intellectually exemplary and prestigious, and have leadership capabilities meeting the requirements in the new period, thus consolidating the people’s trust.
Celebrating Uncle Ho’s birth anniversary in a practical manner, it is necessary to further promote the study and following of Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality and style, as well as to widely spread the will to rise above and self-reliance, and turn words into actions, thereby bringing the country’s renewal cause to new victories and building a prosperous Vietnam with wealthy people and a democratic, fair and civilised society as beloved Uncle Ho always wished.
