Office for Honorary Consulate of Vietnam opens in Odessa

The new office for the Honorary Consulate of Vietnam officially opened in Odessa, Ukraine on June 25.

Speaking at a ceremony held in the Sen Village in Odessa, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Ukraine Nguyen Hong Thach said the opening of the office showed that Vietnam always attaches importance to its time-honoured relationship with Ukraine and wishes to strongly develop bilateral ties in all fields.

Congratulating Nguyen Van Khanh, an honourable doctor as the first Honorary Consul General of Vietnam in Ukraine, Ambassador Thach emphasised this is a recognition of his prestige in the community as well as in relation to the municipal authority of Odessa.

The Vietnamese Ambassador said Honorary Consul General Nguyen Van Khanh and the Honorary Consulate of Vietnam will further contribute to strengthening Vietnam - Ukraine relations, as well as supporting the Vietnamese community in Odessa to develop further, contributing to the interests of the two countries.

Addressing the ceremony, representatives of departments and agencies of Odessa province and Odessa city expressed their belief that in his new position, Honorary Consul Nguyen Van Khanh will continue to exert efforts promoting relations between Odessa and Vietnam, especially in the medical field in which he is well-known in Odessa.
