NA Chairman receives Mayor and businesses of Tempere city

NDO – National Assembly Chairwoman Vuong Dinh Hue received the Mayor of Tempere city Anna-Kaisa Ikonen and businesses from Finland’s second largest city on September 11, as part of the top legislator's official visit to Finland.

At the meeting, Mayor Anna-Kaisa Ikonen briefed the Vietnamese delegation on Tempere city, a major centre of Finland’s manufacturing industry. The city is evaluated for modern development, with many businesses and projects in the field of high-quality technology development, especially in such areas as health, basic science, high-quality university training, information technology, digital technology, mechanical engineering, and nanotechnology.

Mayor Anna-Kaisa Ikonen also introduced a number of large enterprises to present projects in Vietnam as well as expressing their wish to learn about future cooperation needs with Vietnam in a number of fields such as digitalisation and IT, smart city models, renewable energy, medicine and scientific research, cybersecurity solutions for Government leaders, businesses and organisations.

Speaking at the meeting, NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue suggested the Mayor promote and encourage large enterprises in the city to strengthen cooperation and investment in Vietnam, taking advantage of the great benefits of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).

The top legislator also noted that Vietnam advocates promoting foreign investment attraction to take advantage of the shift of supply chains and opportunities for economic recovery after the pandemic.

Vietnam wishes to strengthen cooperation with Finland in fields such as high technology, telecommunications, renewable energy, environment, water treatment, IT, smart city construction and management, he added,

NA Chairman Hue also affirmed that Vietnam continues to perfect a favourable legal corridor, creating a stable and safe business environment for foreign investors and businesses, including Finnish ones.

On the same day, in Helsinki, NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue also received leaders of Siemens Energy AG.
