At a meeting with Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Phan Van Mai, Turk noted with pleasure the strong revival of Ho Chi Minh City following the latest COVID-19 outbreak, and lauded the southern metropolis’ potential and position for Vietnam’s economic development in the time ahead.

The WB stands ready to closely coordinate and assist Ho Chi Minh City in implementing agreed programmes and projects, share its experience and provide consultations for the city to tackle challenges to urban transport, health care, education and digital transformation.

For his part, Mai thanked the bank for its support in policy making, especially green urban building and sustainable development, as well as during the COVID-19 combat.

The official also called for further cooperation from the bank in development areas in the city.
