The Pasaxon, mouthpiece of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP), run a front-page article reviewing activities by the Lao leader on December 6, from the official welcome ceremony by Vietnamese NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue to discussions by leaders of the two parliamentary organs to further tighten bilateral ties.

On the first day of the visit on December 6, Saysomphone Phomvihane also attended a seminar sharing experience in holding Q&A sessions in the NA’s meetings and deciding on important projects, it said.

Meanwhile, the Vientiane Times newspaper ran an article lauding cooperation between the two legislatures, highlighting that it is the first overseas trip by Saysomphone Phomvihane since he was elected as President of the Lao NA early this year.

According to the article, during talks on December 6, the two top legislators praised closer ties between the two parliaments.

Also on its front page, the PathetLao Daily said despite COVID-19 pandemic in the recent past, ties between the Vietnamese and Lao legislatures have been increasingly closer, most notably the building of the new headquarters of the Lao NA – gift of the Vietnamese Party, State and people for Lao counterparts. It is also one of the symbols of great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, governments, legislatures and peoples.

It added that the visit once again shows that ties between the Vietnamese and Lao NA have been increasingly fruitful and effective.
