Thailand’s Udon Thani Province always supports Vietnamese businesses: Governor

Udon Thani provincial governor Sayam Sirimongkorn has asserted that the province always welcomes and supports Vietnamese businesses and citizens living and operating in the locality.

The Thai official made the affirmation during a working session with the Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Phan Chi Thanh on the occasion of the latter’s working visit to the province from May 1 to 4.

He conveyed his thanks to the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand for supporting and connecting Udon Thani with cities and provinces throughout Vietnam.

He said he had directed the provincial authorities to strengthen links with Vietnam’s Thai Nguyen province and establish a working group of Udon Thani province to make an official visit to Thai Nguyen shortly.

The provincial authorities are also working on a project to launch Vietnam street in Udon Thani.

For his part, Ambassador Phan Chi Thanh spoke highly of outcomes in economic cooperation between the two countries, calling for further trade links between Udon Thani and Vietnam’s Thai Nguyen province.

He expressed his hope that the provincial authorities will continue offering favourable conditions for the Vietnamese community throughout the province.

He also looked forward to the launch of Vietnam street in Udon Thani and wished for further cooperation in transport, particularly aviation links, between the Thai province and Vietnamese localities.

During his stay in Udon Thani, Ambassador Phan Chi Thanh also offered incense to President Ho Chi Minh at his memorial site and visited business facilities of Overseas Vietnamese enterprises within the locality.
