Vice President visits Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand

Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan paid a visit to Thailandand met with the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and agencies in the country on June 22.

The visit was made within the framework of her attendance at the Global Summit of Women 2022 (GSW 2022).

Within the meeting, Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Phan Chi Thanh informed the Vice President on the development in the relationship between Vietnam and Thailand as well as the embassy’s operations and expatriate affairs.

For her part, Vice President Xuan said despite COVID-19 pandemic and the conflicts in the world, Vietnam has beengaining important achievements as the country turns to the new normal to boost socio-economic recovery and development.

Thailand is now a major partner of Vietnam in ASEAN in terms of investment, trade, politics and external affairs, she said.

The Vice President stressed that the overseas Vietnamese community in Thailand is a patriotic and united community, contributing to preserving and promoting the Vietnamese cultural identity.

She asked the embassy to make more efforts to contribute to fostering and developing the time-honoured bilateral relations between the two countries.
