Vice President offers flowers at President Ho Chi Minh Monument in the Philippines

Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and a Vietnamese delegation offered flowers at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument at the ASEAN Garden in Manila on June 30, as part of her working visit to the Philippines.

Built in 2011 to mark the 121st birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, the monument is a place for the Vietnamese community in the Philippines, as well as Philippine and foreign friends to pay gratitude to the great Vietnamese leader.

On the same day, Vice President Xuan visited the Vietnamese Embassy in the Philippines and met with representatives from the Vietnamese community in the host country.

She applauded efforts by the embassy’s staff in effectively implementing the tasks assigned by the Party, State and people.

She hailed that, despite the difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the embassy has made significant contributions to deepening the strategic partnership between the two countries while facilitating national development in Vietnam, particularly in the country’s fight against COVID-19.

She briefed the participants on remarkable socio-economic achievements in Vietnam and the country’s effort to contain the pandemic, recover economy, and ensure social welfares.

The Vice President also spoke highly of the achievements made by the overseas Vietnamese community in the Philippines, expressing her hope that the OVs will promote solidarity and make further contributions to enhancing and consolidating Vietnam – Philippines relations.
