Vietnam and Laos foster cooperation

The Embassy of Vietnam and the Embassy of Laos in China jointly organised a friendship exchange programme in Beijing, China, on August 13.

The event was held to celebrate the “Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year 2022,” the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Laos, and 45 years since the signing of the Vietnam - Laos Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Sao Mai affirmed that consolidating and developing special relations with Laos is a top priority in the foreign policy of the Vietnamese Party and State.

Great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos become more important than ever, he noted.

He underscored that, for many years, the Vietnam-Laos embassies in China have always maintained the tradition of friendly cooperation, coordination and mutual support in forums and activities in China, making an important contribution to the implementation of external tasks assigned by the two parties and states; building a united and strong ASEAN Community; as well as actively contributing to the activities of the diplomatic corps of countries in Beijing.

For his part, Lao Ambassador to China Khamphao Ernthavanh said friendly exchanges between the two embassies will make a positive contribution to strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the parties, states and peoples of the two countries, bringing the time-honoured relationship to new heights.
